Symbology Guide Series: Spellbound Shrine

The Symbology Guide Series is an up-close look into the intentionally chosen iconography and symbolic features that make each altar shrine I craft a unique portal piece. Here we will dissect the details and explore the imagery of Spellbound.

Spellbound is a trophy for the green witches who keep busy magic hands and tender hearts. It displays affections of antiquity. Let’s look at the signature symbolism rooted in this piece.

⊹⊹⊹

Protective Roman Hand Amulet

This ancient charm was crafted to to ward off the evil eye. Fingers are positioned in a ‘ICXC’ gesture and a snake is cleverly wrapped around the index (Jupiter) finger.

Celtic-Inspired Knots

A symbol of infinite interconnection. This four lobed knot amusingly replicates the Apple Command icon, echoing the assertive mood of the hand amulet.

Heart Lockets

These emblems represent a loving bond and sentimental memory keeping.

Rosemary Herb Bundle

Our plant ally of remembrance, cleansing and protection.

Window to the Forest

An open outlook onto the vast expanse of trees allows an escape to the green beyond.

Spellbound is equal parts witchy and nostalgic.
